Sept. 4---FFA dues must be paid in order to show or compete in any type of FFA activity

Sept. 18—Hog tag orders due for all hogs showing in Gillespie County, Kerr County and all Major Shows—call Ag. Office to order tags

Sept. 26--Hill Country District Jr Livestock Show Fundraiser at the Livestock Show Fairgrounds in Kerrville @5:30pm

Oct. 14---Harper FFA Boosters meeting---prepare for Harper FFA and 4-H Livestock Show, Jan. 1-2, 2010 (meeting to be held in Ag. classroom at High School)

Oct. 22—Gillespie County lamb and goat validation-Fairgrounds—final validation@ 3 pm

If your children or students have any hogs to show this year in the Major Shows, the following dates are listed to have those pigs ear-tagged and validated. These will be the only dates that we will be validating hogs as a county for those shows. Please mark your calendars. Also, next Wednesday night, Nov. 4, the Harper FFA will be having our Major Show entries meeting night to enter all the shows, including the Harper Livestock Show on Jan. 2. The 4-H will have their entries meeting in the cafeteria at 6 pm and the FFA will be here in our classrooms at 6 pm. Make plans to be here to get all your entries, parking passes, hotel information, etc. done on that night.

Also, any student who may be building an Ag. Mechanics project to be shown at the Hill Country District Jr. Livestock Show in Kerrville or those in the process of ordering materials to build a project, must be here with their parents that night as well. Their projects require an entry just the same as entering a lamb or goat, steer or a hog. Please make note and if you have any questions, please give the ag department a call.
